My Interests
Sneakers
As someone who has not been able to appreciate typical mediums of art, I have realized my obsession for sneakers is a reflection of my art preference. Though the displayed sneakers are not my personal pictures, these sneakers are in my collection, and both have unique stories and designs.
The sneakers on the right are part of my collection. Let's chat!
Mechanical Keyboards
My interests for keyboards started because I was looking to improve my typing speeds and ergonomics. As much as I do not like to admit, keyboards have become a hobby.
These keyboards were the only option to change switches (component to register keys) to ones with a lower actuation force.
Lower actuation force = potentially higher wpm (words per minute).
Extra: the wrist rest was custom made, and another great example of how I live: form follows function. The imperfections in design are negligible as it serves its purpose.
Cooking
My typical trip to the grocery store starts in the protein section, looking for cuts that are on sale. From there, I choose other ingredients on sale to create a more than palatable meal. Maybe a part of me sees this as a challenge, creating delicious meals on a budget. Luckily for me, I am one of the best cooks out of my friends: or maybe the bar is not high :).
Again, form follows function. Or I have just inherited my ancestors' mindsets when it comes to food, by efficiently picking and using ingredients: fermenting, pickling, and utilizing common ingredients were a means of survival, and now a cornerstone of Korean cuisine.
Soccer
Soccer was the first sport I played, which may explain why it is my favorite sport. Its accessibility and global appeal is why I believe it is the best sport: it also helps that one of the best players in the Premier League is Heung Min Son (you guessed it, he is Korean).
I will happily debate why soccer is the best sport because it requires raw talent, athleticism, and teamwork. Go Spurs!
Weight Lifting
I started lifting when I sustained a soccer injury and gained weight, admittedly a lot more than I wanted to. If I could not be one of the fastest on the field, might as well become the strongest.
Though I cannot lift nearly as much as I used to, it is still rewarding to track my progress and work towards a goal.
This is one of the few instances where form trumps everything else.
